I’d like to make an appointment. How do I do this?

Booking online is easy. All you need to do is use the online system that provides appointment options for the Blacktown, Bondi Junction, Brookvale, Chatswood, Hurstville, Parramatta, Burwood and Sydney CBD centres.

You can also call the centre you want to attend (Find a Optical Provider details on our website here) to make your appointment or to find out more.

I really like my current optometrist or optical provider. Do I have to go to HCF Eyecare?

We know that getting the care you need and want is a very personal experience for our members. If you’ve found an optometrist or optical centre that meets your needs, please stick with them. The opening of HCF Eyecare Centres to you is just an additional advantage of your Transport Health membership.

Will my Transport Health membership card work?

It sure will. You’ll be able to use your Transport Health membership card and your benefit amounts will automatically be applied for you.

I don’t have Extras cover. Can I still visit a HCF Eyecare Centre?

You can. Your eye test/assessment is covered by Medicare and all offers available to rt health members will apply to you as well. You’ll just need to pay for your contacts or glasses.

There are no HCF Eyecare Centres near me. Why?

HCF’s Eyecare Centres are located in Sydney to provide services where there is the greatest population and concentration of members. However, you’re still able to access the great services and value provided by our list of Optical Providers including Specsavers, OPSM, Optical, Q Optical and clearly.com.au

What else should I expect as part of the merger?

In the coming months we’ll be keeping you posted on a range of other great benefits you can look forward to, including:

  • An improved health and wellbeing program

And, don’t forget about:

  • Two months’ free health cover: If you were a member before 1 November 2021, you’ll receive one month free in November this year, followed by another month free in November 2023, as long as you remain a member with Transport Health. This amounts to a saving of hundreds of dollars for most members.
  • We’re freezing premiums: As part of our ongoing commitment to always putting our members first, we’re passing on savings made due to COVID-19 back to our members in the form of no premium price increase until November 2022.
